Our client is a leading engineering and infrastructure main contractor delivering major EPC energy, power transmission, grid connection, and power distribution projects across Ireland.
The Senior Planner is required to lead the planning, scheduling, and project controls function for high-profile energy transition and conventional power construction packages.
Based in Kildare or Dublin, they will oversee program development, bid planning, resource tracking, and critical path management across both pre-construction tendering and live contract delivery phases.
Develop and maintain fully resourced project programmes in Primavera P6 and MS Project for complex energy and civil infrastructure projects
Assimilate complex engineering data, scope specifications, and work packages to establish clear logic networks and execution sequences
Lead pre-construction planning for bid submissions, developing tender execution programmes, methodology statements, and resource schedules
Identify programme risks, perform schedule risk analyses, and maintain risk registers in collaboration with project controls teams
Establish baseline schedules, monitor progress against key milestones, and perform critical path delay analyses
Collaborate with Estimators, Commercial Managers, and Operations teams to establish competitive output rates and sub-contract interfaces
Prepare visual project material, site logistics plans, and progress dashboards for client review meetings and internal handovers
Track resource allocation, labour curves, and equipment usage, producing look-ahead schedules and mitigation recovery plans
Mentor, support, and assist in the development of junior planners and site project teams
Promote best practices in health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) standards across all project plans
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant engineering discipline
5+ years' experience in planning and project controls within civil engineering contracting and the Energy / Power sector
Demonstrated experience managing both tendering/bid preparation and live site contract delivery programmes
Proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and MS Office applications
In-depth understanding of commercial and contractual interfaces, change management, and Extension of Time (EOT) evaluations
Strong communication, presentation, and team mentoring abilities

Salary €80k - €110k depending on experience
