Senior Quantity Surveyor - Main Contractor - Dublin

Our client is a leading Irish construction company who possess ISO9001 accreditation and continually lead the way in integrated services and support.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to manage multiple projects to maximize commercial returns while maintaining positive client and stakeholder relationships.

They will track project deliverables, drive commercial planning, and ensure robust cost control procedures are utilized across all project phases.

Carry out in-depth reviews of tender documentation to identify potential risks and commercial gains.

Review and approve selected subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring appropriate contract terms are properly executed.

Manage commercial teams to drive successful delivery across high-profile projects in commercial, critical environment, and life sciences sectors.

Ensure contractual correspondence complies with contract terms, including detailed analysis of EOT notifications and claims.

Monitor project financial performance continuously to ensure projects remain on time and within budget.

Report on actual costs versus estimates, analyzing variances and presenting clear resolution strategies to senior management.

Ensure clients' stated objectives are met through proactive cost control, accurate value reporting, and sound contractual advice.

Manage subcontract liabilities, compensation events, payment notifications, and program submissions in line with contractual requirements.

Ensure project and site teams thoroughly understand contractual arrangements to meet client requirements.

Maintain strong relationships with clients, PQS firms, and key project stakeholders.

Requirements

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or equivalent (SCSI / RICS accredited preferred)

6+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the main contracting sector.

In-depth knowledge of standard construction contracts including RIAI, FIDIC, and JCT.

Strong commercial acumen, contract administration, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Proven track record managing commercial teams and building client and PQS relationships.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
