Senior Quantity Surveyor - Critical Environments / Data Centres - Nordics (Norway / Finland)

Our client is a premier, rapidly expanding main contractor specializing in critical environments, including hyperscale data centres, life sciences, aviation, and high-value manufacturing across Ireland, the UK, and Northern Europe.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to join their European delivery team in-country for major data centre and critical infrastructure projects across Norway (kicking off January) and Finland.

This is a full relocation opportunity (non-rotational). Candidates relocating from Ireland will spend their initial 1 month working under an Irish employment contract prior to deploying to site, while local candidates will be hired directly under local country employment contracts.

Lead the commercial and financial management of critical environment and data centre projects on-site in Norway or Finland

Track project deliverables and enforce robust commercial management systems, baseline budgets, and cost control procedures

Drive commercial planning and implementation across assigned project workstreams from pre-contract tender review through to final account close-out

Conduct in-depth reviews of tender documentation, identifying commercial risks, contractual exposures, and value-engineering opportunities

Manage subcontractor procurement, evaluate supplier tenders, negotiate package terms, and approve subcontractor appointments

Administer main contracts and subcontracts (FIDIC, JCT, RIAI, or bespoke international forms), managing change control, variations, EOT notifications, and loss-and-expense claims

Monitor live expenditure versus project budgets, analyzing cost variances, cost-to-complete forecasts, and CVR performance

Prepare and present detailed commercial progress reports, risk evaluations, and mitigation strategies for executive management and client stakeholders

Ensure site teams and package managers understand contract terms, scope boundaries, and communication protocols

Build and maintain strong relationships with blue-chip clients, PQS consultants, and supply chain partners

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) in Quantity Surveying & Construction Economics or equivalent qualification accredited by SCSI / RICS

Minimum 5+ years' post-graduate Quantity Surveying experience with a Main Contractor

Proven track record delivering major building, mechanical/electrical, or critical infrastructure schemes (Data Centres, Life Sciences, or Industrial builds preferred)

In-depth working knowledge of international construction contracts (FIDIC, JCT, RIAI, or NEC)

Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and document analysis capability

Demonstrated commercial acumen, cost management skill, and attention to detail

Must be willing to relocate to Norway or Finland for the project duration (or be already based in-country)

€85k - €100k salary dependent on experience
