Our client is one of Ireland’s leading building contractors delivering major commercial, residential, healthcare, and public sector developments.

Job Description

Manage and lead the Technical Services function across live site projects, ensuring the seamless integration of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) systems.

Review detailed M&E designs, builder's work drawings, BIM models, and technical submittals to identify spatial clashes, design gaps, and value engineering opportunities.

Serve as the primary technical point of contact between client teams, MEP design consultants, local authorities, and site management.

Oversee the procurement and technical evaluation of MEP sub-contractors and specialist equipment vendors.

Ensure all building services installations strictly comply with statutory regulations, Irish Building Regulations, IS 10101, CIBSE guidelines, and project specifications.

Coordinate static testing, pre-commissioning, balancing, and final commissioning activities for all M&E plant and specialized services.

Monitor site progress against baseline programmes, ensuring MEP milestones are met safely, within budget, and to high quality standards.

Manage the technical handover process, including the delivery of complete O&M manuals, as-built documentation, and building compliance certifications

Requirements

Level 8 degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a Technical Services Manager or Senior Services Engineer role within a main building contractor.

Proven track record managing M&E packages on large-scale commercial, educational, or residential construction developments.

Deep technical knowledge of MEP building systems, HVAC, electrical power distribution, commissioning management, and building automation (BMS).

Strong proficiency in reading CAD drawings, reviewing BIM/Navisworks models, and technical submittals.

Excellent leadership, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills
