Transport Major Projects Design and Build Manager - Cork

Our Client is one of the world's leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services.

They are seeking a Transport Major Projects Design and Build Manager for road, rail and public transport schemes throughout Ireland. The candidate must be a Chartered Engineer and should have extensive experience in design and build projects, ideally leading designs for main contractor clients in Ireland. The candidate will join our busy transportation team in Ireland, based in our Cork office, with flexible hybrid working available.

The role will involve team building and leadership, mentoring staff, managing planning and delivery of design and build transport projects throughout Ireland for main contractor clients.

The candidate will also be involved in business development activity, including managing relationships with main contractor clients, gathering market intelligence and leading tender designs for major design and build transport projects.

Qualifications:

Extensive relevant experience in a consultancy and contractor environment 

Educated to degree level (Level 8/9).

Chartered Engineer.

Computer literate and able to work efficiently with Microsoft Office.

Knowledgeable of relevant design standards and with the ability to transfer this knowledge into practical, buildable and value for money designs.

Experience of NEC and Irish Public Works Contracts

Experience of design and build projects.

Experience in planning and design of transport schemes in Ireland, including feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, statutory processes, procurement processes, contract administration and construction supervision.

Full Irish / EU driving licence.
