Past Projects
JobContax works on some of the world's largest construction and engineering projects.
We have placed numerous construction and engineering professionals on projects such as the Gorgon Project, Browse Basin and Wheatstone LNG projects in Australia.
Gorgon Project
The Gorgon gas project is a natural gas project in Western Australia, involving the development of the Greater Gorgon gas fields, subsea gas-gathering infrastructure, and a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant on Barrow Island. The project also includes a domestic gas component. It is currently under construction and once completed, will become Australia's fourth LNG export development.
Wheatstone Project
The Wheatstone LNG Project will be one of Australia's largest resource projects. Chevron plan to construct two liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, each with a capacity of 4.3 million tons of LNG per year, and a domestic gas plant on the Pilbara coast of Western Australia. Initially fed by the Wheatstone and Lago offshore fields, Wheatstone will provide a hub for commercializing future gas resources in the region and eventually may produce up to 25 million tons of LNG per year.

Ichthys LNG Project
Ichthys LNG Project has long been identified as having the potential to be a world-class gas project. It is the biggest liquids discovery since the Bass Strait. The project will be the largest oil and gas development in the Northern Territory.
Gorgon, Browse and Wheatstone Projects require Construction Workers and Engineers
Australia will need to import workers if it wants to take full advantage of its abundant natural resources, the nation’s largest private construction company says. Daniel Grollo, chief executive of Grocon Group, wants the federal government to start planning for the massive skills shortage the country faces as private investment in infrastructure and construction recovers from the global financial crisis.
Gorgon Project: An Emerging Australian Icon
Gorgon is a story of energy and the environment as well as technology and expertise. It is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and the largest single resource natural gas project in Australia's history. The Gorgon Project will develop the Greater Gorgon Area gas fields, located about 130 kilometres off the north-west coast of Western Australia.
Gorgon Project Overview
Gorgon will create a vast number of direct and indirect jobs approximately 10,000 throughout Western Australia from Freemantle to Barrow Island. The project has already committed more than $10 billion to Australian industry.
Gladstone LNG Project
Gladstone LNG Project is expected to employ 5,000 people during construction and 1,000 during operation. At its peak – likely 2011 - it is expected to employ around 3,000 people. Santos has already recruited more than 150 professional roles to commence the next phase and opened a start-of-the-art office in central Brisbane.
Construction workers and Engineers needed for Gorgon LNG plant
Chevron Corp. recently started work on an expansion of its 43 billion Australian dollars (US$42.57 billion) Gorgon liquefied natural gas project in Australia, in a move to capitalize on rising Asian demand for clean-burning fuels.
Browse LNG – Woodside signs land deal
Woodside announced that a Native Title Agreement has been executed to enable the establishment of the Browse LNG Precinct near James Price Point, 60 km north of Broome in Western Australia.
Browse LNG Project Overview
The Browse LNG project will be the largest LNG export facility in Western Australia’s north-west coast. The total value of the project is around $20bn and will be the largest project awarded in Australia. JobContax currently have a number of positions to fill for the project.
Australian 457 Visas Explained

40,000 workers needed in WA over the next two years
Western Australia will need 40,000 more workers over the next two years to cope with demand from major resource industry projects, including the Gorgon,Browse and Wheatstone Projects. With mega operations such as Chevron’s $43 billion dollar Gorgon LNG project and Woodside’s Pluto in the pipeline – the demand for workers on the ground has never been so strong.
